GM is the Canadian Sales Leader in Q1 2025

Oshawa, Ont. (April 1, 2025) – Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac dealers delivered 74,005 vehicles in the first quarter of 2025, an increase of 17.3 per cent over first quarter 2024 sales. GM again leads the Canadian industry in sales, capturing 16.9 per cent of the market.
“GM Canada kept our sales momentum going, growing our market share to lead the industry for 11 consecutive quarters, driven by strong sales across all our brands.” said Shane Peever, vice president, vehicle sales, service, and marketing at GM Canada. “The entire Cadillac portfolio grew by 63.5 per cent, compared to first quarter 2024, our trucks and midsize SUVs continue to lead the competition, and more new customers are choosing GM electric vehicles for performance and affordability.”
Q1 2025 Brand Sales Highlights versus Q1 2024
- Chevrolet – sales up 15.5 per cent
- Buick – sales up 44.1 per cent
- Cadillac – sales up 63.5 per cent, best quarter in the brand’s history
- GMC – sales up 8.2 per cent, best first quarter results in the brand’s history
- Midsize Trucks – Chevrolet Colorado up 94.3 percent, GMC Canyon up 78 per cent
- Midsize SUVs – Chevrolet Traverse up 59.7 per cent and GMC Acadia up 108.1 per cent, Buick Enclave up 41.5 per cent
- Electric Vehicles sales up 252 per cent – GM Canada’s best-ever EV sales led by the Chevrolet Blazer EV up 56 per cent, Cadillac Lyriq up 123.6 per cent, GMC Hummer EV pickup up 232.1 per cent
