OSHAWA, Ont., June 24, 2026 — GM Canada is marking two significant production milestones at Oshawa Assembly: more than 500,000 Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks built, and over one million aftermarket parts produced since November 2021. Together, these figures reflect the scale and consistency of one of Canada's most significant manufacturing operations and set the stage for what comes next, as the plant continues to prepare to build the next generation of gas-powered full-size trucks supported by a C$343 million investment. In total, GM has invested C$3.3 billion in its Canadian operations since 2020, including C$1.5 billion in Oshawa.
"Oshawa Assembly is a world-class operation because of the people who show up every day and build these trucks and parts with exceptional skill and pride," said Jack Uppal, president and managing director of GM Canada. “We continue to invest in Oshawa because we believe in what this plant delivers for our customers and for Canada."
The 500,000th truck to roll off the assembly line was a Sharkskin metallic grey Chevrolet Silverado HD equipped with the Z71 off-road package.
With over one million aftermarket parts produced since 2021, Oshawa Assembly also supports customers and dealers across North America with the components GM vehicle owners need to keep their vehicles performing at their best long after purchase.

Recent GM Investment in Canada
GM continues to invest in Canadian manufacturing operations that support some of the company's most important vehicle and propulsion programs.
- Oshawa Assembly is preparing to build the next generation of gas-powered full-size pickups, supported by a C$343 million investment that reinforces its future in GM’s key full-size truck program. A portion of the plant continues to support aftermarket parts focused on stamping, related sub-assembly and other activities for GM. Oshawa has received C$1.5 billion in investments since 2020.
