GM Canada Reports Q3 Sales: Best EV Sales Quarter Ever

Oshawa, ON – Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac dealers delivered 75,868 vehicles in the third quarter of 2024, an increase of 8.7 per cent over Q3 2023 sales. GM Canada remains the market share leader for 2024 with sales up a total of 9.7 per cent. 

GM Canada had the best EV sales quarter ever with the arrival of the Chevrolet Equinox EV, and strong sales of the Cadillac Lyriq EV. Sales of gas-powered vehicles also remained strong, bolstered by small SUVs and the redesigned Buick portfolio, which posted a one hundred per cent increase for the quarter.

“Our diverse portfolio of EVs contributed to our best EV sales quarter to date, led by the affordable Chevrolet Equinox EV,” said Shane Peever, vice president of sales, service, and marketing. “GM Canada remains the sales leader for 2024, steered by our EV momentum and strength of our gas-powered vehicles.”

  • Chevrolet Equinox EV sold over 5,500 Equinox EVs - the most in a single quarter 
  • GMC Hummer EV SUV sales up over 1,500 per cent
  • GMC Hummer EV pickup sales up over 100 per cent
  • Cadillac LYRIQ EV sales up over 200 per cent

  • Chevrolet sales up nearly 7 per cent
  • Buick sales up over 100 per cent
  • Cadillac sales up over 20 per cent
  • Small SUVs up more than 45 per cent - driven by Chevrolet Trax, Chevrolet Trailblazer, Buick Encore, and Buick Envista
