GM Canada Leads Market in the First half of 2025 with 8 per cent Growth in Q2

Oshawa, Ont. (July 2, 2025) – Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac dealers delivered 83,666 vehicles in the second quarter of 2025, an increase of 8 per cent over the same period last year. GM recorded 15.8 per cent market share calendar year to date, leading the Canadian industry in sales through the first half of 2025.
“More Canadians chose GM models than any other automaker through the first half of 2025, said Shane Peever, vice president of sales, service and marketing. “As the market evolves, we remain focused on offering Canadian drivers' choice through the most diverse portfolio in the industry that ranges from dependable gas-powered vehicles to 13 electric options across Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC.”
Q2 2025 Brand Sales Highlights versus Q2 2024
- Chevrolet – sales up 12.6 per cent
- Buick – sales up 26.1 per cent, best Q2 sales since 2005
- Cadillac – sales up 7.5 per cent, best Q2 in the brand’s history
- Electric Vehicles – sales up 38 per cent, led by the Chevrolet Equinox EV and the Cadillac OPTIQ EV
- Midsize SUVs – Chevrolet Traverse up 100.6 per cent, GMC Acadia up 122.8 per cent, Buick Enclave up 37.6 per cent
- Fullsize Trucks – Chevrolet Silverado up 17.3 per cent, GMC Sierra up 3.3 per cent
